From the Recorder: June 14, 1945

Robert H. Storz, vice president of Storz Brewing Company (and later president of the company in the 1950s and 60s), was elected vice president of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce according to the June 14, 1945, edition of the Ralston Recorder.

Storz Brewing was one of the "big four" Omaha breweries (including Krug, Metz, and Willow Springs) and the top-selling beer in Nebraska starting during World War II. Open from 1876 to 1972, it was owned by the Storz family until 1966. It was purchased by Grain Belt Brewing (Minneapolis) in 1967 and eventually closed in 1972.

Relatives of the Storz family attempted to revive the brand in 2013, but failure to pay rent and property taxes forced its closure in 2015.

An old advertisement for Storz Beer is still visible on one of the brick buildings in downtown Ralston.
